The recent incidents of violence in Manipur have raised concerns over the lack of media coverage regarding the action taken by the Modi government to address the situation. Even the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to have struggled in effectively communicating the efforts made by the government to curb the violence.

The Union Home Ministry has taken significant steps by deploying a substantial number of central armed police forces to Manipur, including CRPF, RAF, and BSF. In response to the developing situation, 147 columns of the Army and Assam Rifles, comprising over 10,000 personnel, have been deployed to assist civil authorities in restoring order. This deployment is considered one of the largest in the history of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles for civil unrest.

Moreover, the Manipur government has issued orders to the army to shoot at sight in extreme cases to contain the violence and protect innocent civilians. As a result, around 9,000 people have been relocated to safer areas to prevent further casualties.

The central government's focus on resolving the situation is evident with the formation of a peace committee in Manipur. This committee's primary mandate is to facilitate peaceful dialogue and negotiations between conflicting parties and groups to find a lasting resolution to the unrest.

The current situation in Manipur is rooted in the contentious change in reservation policy. The Congress party has come under scrutiny for creating this issue by granting special treatment to Christian Kukis, including exclusive reservations and significant land allocations. This controversial policy change has contributed to the ongoing conflict and violence in the region.

The complexity of the Manipur problem is evident as it involves two warring communities, both fueled by a high court ruling. The situation demands a careful and cautious approach by the authorities. Taking sides in such times of turmoil could further escalate the violence and undermine the honorable high court ruling.

The primary concern remains the restoration of peace in Manipur, and the focus should be on deescalating tensions and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. The Modi government's efforts, alongside the deployment of security personnel and the establishment of the peace committee, demonstrate a commitment to resolving the crisis and bringing normalcy back to the region. As the situation continues to evolve, all stakeholders must work together to find a peaceful and sustainable solution to the longstanding issues in Manipur.
