Indian Army Contingent Embarks on Exercise NOMADIC ELEPHANT-23 in Mongolia
Indian Army Contingent Departs for Mongolia to Participate in Exercise NOMADIC ELEPHANT-23.
A group of 43 personnel from the Indian Army has set off for Mongolia today to take part in the 15th edition of the bilateral joint military exercise known as "NOMADIC ELEPHANT-23." The exercise, which promotes cooperation and enhances military ties between the two nations, is scheduled to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from July 17 to July 31, 2023.

Exercise NOMADIC ELEPHANT is an annual training event jointly organized by India and Mongolia. The exercise takes place alternatively in both countries, with the previous edition being conducted at the Special Forces Training School in Bakloh, India, in October 2019.

The primary objective of the exercise is to foster camaraderie and interoperability between the Indian Army and the Mongolian Armed Forces. Through joint training and tactical exercises, the participating contingents aim to enhance their understanding of each other's military tactics, strategies, and procedures. The exercise also provides an opportunity for both forces to learn from each other's experiences and develop new skills in a collaborative environment.

The 43-member Indian Army contingent comprises soldiers from various units who have undergone rigorous training in preparation for the exercise. They will be engaged in a series of joint exercises, including combat drills, counter-insurgency operations, and simulated scenarios that reflect real-life combat situations. The participants will also be exposed to the rich cultural heritage of Mongolia and will have the chance to interact with their Mongolian counterparts on a personal level, fostering bonds of friendship and mutual respect.

This bilateral joint military exercise holds immense significance for both India and Mongolia in terms of strengthening their defense cooperation and deepening their strategic partnership. It serves as a platform to exchange best practices, refine operational techniques, and improve the overall readiness and effectiveness of the armed forces.

The Indian Army contingent's departure for Mongolia marks another milestone in the longstanding and robust defense ties between the two nations. The exercise will not only strengthen the professional bonds between the soldiers but will also contribute to regional peace, stability, and security.

Exercise NOMADIC ELEPHANT-23 is expected to further bolster the mutual trust and understanding between the Indian and Mongolian armed forces. It represents a testament to the commitment of both countries to promoting peace, cooperation, and mutual growth in the Asia-Pacific region.
