Agartala, July 12, 2023: A startling incident unfolded on Wednesday morning at the revered Mata Tripureshwari Temple, one of the 51 "Shakti Peeths," located in Agartala. Visitors on their routine morning walk made a disturbing discovery when they stumbled upon a human skeleton head floating in the sacred waters of the temple's Kalyan Sagar pond. The news spread quickly, prompting the authorities to respond swiftly to the scene.
Upon receiving the alert, the chief priest of the temple, Chandan Chakraborty, along with the temple trust manager, Manik, and the Matabari Panchayat Pradhan, Montu Chandra Das, rushed to the Kalyan Sagar pond. Their arrival confirmed the presence of the human skeleton head in the water. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, they immediately notified the local Radha Kishore Pur police station.
Following an initial examination, law enforcement officials informed the media that the recovered remains indeed belonged to a human skeleton. They suspect foul play, suggesting that the head might have been transported from another location and dumped in the sacred Kalyan Sagar pond. The identity of the individuals responsible for this disturbing act remains unknown. However, the authorities are committed to launching a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind this gruesome discovery.
Expressing his concern, Chandan Chakraborty, the head priest of the Matabari temple, emphasized the need for corrective measures and strict adherence to rules and regulations regarding the use of water from the Mata Tripureshwari Temple's pond for religious purposes if the head is confirmed to belong to a human.
Despite extensive efforts to locate additional remains, the police could only retrieve the human skeleton head. The remaining parts of the body, if any, remain elusive. In order to facilitate further examination, the recovered head has been transferred to the mortuary at Gomati District Hospital in Tepania.
