Urgent Resolution Needed: COCOMI Warns MLAs and Ministers of Consequences
Imphal, July 29: A massive rally organized by the Coordinating Committee for Manipur's Integrity (COCOMI) witnessed an overwhelming participation of over two lakhs of people today. The rally, which took place in Imphal, saw citizens coming together to reaffirm their strong stand against the Chin Kuki Narco-Terrorists in Manipur.
During the rally, the participants unanimously agreed to take stern actions if the Manipur legislators fail to convene a special session of the state assembly on or before August 5. They demand that the assembly pass resolutions for the protection of Manipur's territorial integrity.
The rally commenced at 10 am from the THAU ground in Thangmeiband and followed a 7-km route through various locations, including Khuyathong, Nagamapal, Wahengleikai, Keishampat, Keishamthong, Moirangkhom, and Thombuthong, where a public meeting was held at Palace Compound.
Slogans denouncing Chin Kuki Narco-Terrorists, the aggression towards Manipur's territory by armed Kuki Militants, and the SoO (Suspension of Operations) agreement between the Government of India and the Kuki militants were echoed passionately during the rally. The participants also demanded separate administrations for Manipur and voiced their strong discontent towards the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the inaction of Manipur's Chief Minister N. Biren Singh regarding the violence in the state.
At Hapta Kangjeibung, even after the conclusion of the meeting around 1:00 pm, people continued to gather, showcasing their unwavering support for COCOMI's cause.
During the rally, COCOMI resolved to exterminate Chin Kuki Narco-Terrorists and Foreign Illegal immigrants from Manipur to put an end to the prevailing conflict.
The strong show of unity and determination by the people of Manipur highlights their commitment to safeguarding the state's integrity and sending a clear message to those involved in nefarious activities. COCOMI's call for urgent action from the state legislators has set a deadline of August 5 for addressing the crucial issue of Manipur's protection. The public's expectations are high, and it remains to be seen how the authorities respond to these demands.
