Meghalaya: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma, expressed great pride as the flagship program of the Government, "Yess Meghalaya," celebrated the successful completion of its first year today. Launched in July 2022, the scheme, officially titled as "Youth Engagement Through Empowered Youth Organizations (Yess)," has made a significant impact among the state's youth organizations.
Over the course of the past year, the Government has disbursed a remarkable sum of ₹4.5 crores to more than 1,300 youth groups. Recognizing the positive energy and potential of the youth, the Yess Meghalaya initiative provided them with an opportunity to pursue their passions and make a meaningful difference in their communities.
Through the financial assistance made available, these youth organizations have successfully organized a diverse range of activities including sports tournaments, artistic endeavors, and cultural events. These initiatives have not only promoted the spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition but have also showcased the rich cultural heritage of Meghalaya.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma emphasized the importance of channelizing the youth's energy in a constructive manner.
