Bengal-based Women Involved in Bold Heist at Tripura Jewelry Store.
22 July 2023: In an audacious turn of events, a group of women from West Bengal executed a daring theft of gold ornaments from a jewelry store in Dharmanagar, Tripura. The incident, which took place on Friday, has raised concerns among local residents about the security of their valuables.
According to reports, three female customers visited Rajan Jewelers on Vivekananda Road, posing as interested buyers. They requested the jeweler's employee to show them various types of bracelets. Seemingly normal at first, the situation quickly took a suspicious turn when the women abruptly claimed to have no money and hurriedly left the shop.
The jeweler, sensing something amiss, immediately reviewed the CCTV footage and took stock of their inventory. The worst fears were confirmed – two valuable bracelets had been stolen during the encounter with the women. The authorities were promptly informed, and an urgent search operation was launched in the city of Dharmanagar to apprehend the culprits.
In a significant breakthrough, the police successfully arrested five women and three men allegedly involved in the theft. The arrested individuals were identified as Swapan Mandal, Chanchal Ghosh, Shafiqul Sahazil, Sundhan Das, Taapsee Das, Rosyka Das, Belu Das, and Morjinav Bibi, all hailing from West Bengal.
During the arrest, the police seized two stolen gold chains, six earrings, a bracelet, and a sum of Rs 9,900 in cash from the suspects. They also confiscated a vehicle believed to have been used in the commission of the crime.
