In a startling turn of events, Mitali Sharma, the newly appointed Assistant Registrar of the Koderma zone in Jharkhand, was detained by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on her very first day of work. The Hazaribagh ACB team took swift action in response to the serious allegations raised by Rameshwar Prasad Yadav, director of the Koderma Vyapar Mandal Sahyog Samiti Limited.
Yadav, responsible for the distribution of Kharif crop seeds in the region, accused Mitali Sharma of engaging in corrupt practices. It is alleged that after conducting an inspection of the office for undisclosed reasons, Sharma sent Yadav a show-cause notice. To resolve the matter and avoid any departmental action, Sharma demanded a bribe of ₹20,000 from Yadav.
Despite his unwillingness, Yadav was compelled to succumb to Sharma's demands and provide the requested amount. The Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted a thorough investigation into the matter, verifying the authenticity of the bribe demand as reported by Yadav.
Based on the serious allegations made by Yadav, a case has been registered against Mitali Sharma at the ACB's Hazaribagh office. The authorities are now actively pursuing the investigation, aiming to uncover the full extent of the corruption and ensure appropriate legal action is taken.
