Non-Governmental Organizations Rally for Change: ACHIK's Hunger Strike Continues.
ACHIK, alongside various other non-governmental organizations (NGOs), is advocating for the retroactive implementation of the job roster system and the designation of Tura as the Winter Capital.
Since the protest began, there has been no direct communication between the protesters and the authorities. However, today, Jagdish Chelani, the deputy commissioner of West Garo Hills (WGH), made an attempt to convince the demonstrators to end their protest and wait for the chief minister to address their concerns next week.
Despite the official's visit, the protesters firmly rejected the proposal, as they were expecting the chief minister's personal presence and interaction at the protest site.
