NEW DELHI: Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri slams Rahul Gandhi for criticizing India abroad

In response to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's recent statements criticizing the Indian government abroad, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has strongly condemned his actions. Minister Puri while addressing the media expressed his disapproval especially during these challenging times when the country is dealing with various issues.
The Union minister's remarks came in the wake of Rahul Gandhi's remarks about the response time of the National Security Guard (NSG) during the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Rahul Gandhi had said that the NSG took more than 10 hours to reach Mumbai, raising concerns over the preparedness and response capabilities of the security forces.
Minister Puri responded by saying that during the tragic Balasore train accident, the Prime Minister himself had visited the spot, and all Union ministers had immediately gone to the spot to assess the situation. He stressed that the government is determined to take strict action against those responsible for the accident and the railway lines have already been restored.
The Union Minister criticized Rahul Gandhi for his timing for making such remarks while the country is facing challenging circumstances. Emphasizing on the need for unity and support to deal with the current issues, he urged the Congress leader to refrain from criticizing the country abroad at this juncture.

The 26/11 attack in Mumbai was one of the most devastating terrorist incidents in the history of India, and the response time of the security forces during that period has been the subject of scrutiny and analysis. While it is important to evaluate and learn from past incidents, Minister Puri stressed that such discussions should be held within the country and should not be used as a means to criticize India at international forums.

The minister also reiterated the government's commitment to take appropriate action against anyone found guilty in incidents like the Balasore train accident. The restoration of railway lines reflects the quick response and efforts made by the authorities to restore normalcy and ensure the safety of passengers.
It is important for political leaders to prioritize national interest and unity, especially during challenging times. Minister Puri's remarks highlight the need for constructive dialogue within the country to effectively address the issues and work towards the betterment of the nation. As the country is grappling with various challenges, it is necessary for all political parties to come together and focus on finding solutions rather than engaging in criticism, which can tarnish the image of the country at the international level. Unity, cooperation and constructive discussions are key to overcoming the challenges facing India and ensuring a brighter future for its citizens.
