Guwahati witnessed a serious accident in the Kahilipara area, resulting in multiple injuries. The incident occurred when a city bus collided with an Alto car, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
According to reports, the accident unfolded as the city bus lost control and crashed into the wall of the 'Axom Sarva Sikhya Abhiyan Mission' Office located in Kahilipara. Subsequently, the bus ran over an Alto car that was traveling in the vicinity.
The ill-fated bus was en route from GMCH Hill Top Road, while the Alto car was heading from Ganeshguri side. The bus, presumably due to a loss of control, veered off the hilltop road and collided with the roadside wall.
Numerous individuals, including the bus driver and several passengers, sustained injuries and were promptly transported to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for medical treatment.
The bus, which was reportedly carrying wedding attendees, collided with the Alto car occupied by four individuals. As a result, the authorities seized both vehicles and took them to the local police station for further investigation.
It is worth noting that this is not the first instance of a bus losing control while descending the GMCH Hill Top road. In a previous incident, another city bus had encountered a similar mishap, colliding with the wall of the same office.
Efforts are underway to ascertain the cause of the accident and to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Local authorities are expected to conduct a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the accident and take necessary measures to enhance road safety in the area.
As investigations progress, residents and commuters are urged to exercise caution while traveling and adhere to traffic rules and regulations to avoid such unfortunate accidents.
