NEW DELHI: During his official state visit to the United States, Prime Minister Modi has received invitations from President Joseph Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. The visit will commence in New York, where the Prime Minister will lead the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga at the United Nations Headquarters on June 21. This event holds great significance as it promotes the physical and mental well-being of individuals across the globe.
Following the New York leg of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Washington DC, where he will be accorded a ceremonial welcome at the White House on June 22. The highlight of this visit will be the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Biden, where they will engage in high-level discussions on various important matters. President Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will also host a grand State Dinner in honor of the Prime Minister on the same evening, showcasing the warm ties between the two nations.
Further emphasizing the importance of this visit, Prime Minister Modi has been invited to address a Joint Sitting of the U.S. Congress on June 22. This unique opportunity allows him to share his perspectives and ideas with the esteemed members of the U.S. Congress, including Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy and Speaker of the Senate Charles Schumer.
Continuing his diplomatic endeavors, on June 23, Prime Minister Modi will attend a luncheon jointly hosted by Vice President Kamala Harris and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. This gathering will provide a platform for meaningful discussions and collaborations. Additionally, the Prime Minister has planned various curated interactions with influential CEOs, professionals, and other stakeholders, fostering valuable partnerships and exploring avenues of mutual growth. After concluding his visit to the United States, Prime Minister Modi will embark on a state visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt from 24 to 25 June 2023. This will mark his first-ever visit to Egypt and is at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The visit holds great significance as it signifies the growing bilateral relations between India and Egypt.
