Speaking at a state-level awareness program, Natung highlighted the significant challenge of environmental protection.

Expressing concern over the pervasive presence of plastics, the minister acknowledged that while the government had launched a plastic-free initiative, India remained the largest generator of plastic waste. He emphasized the need for citizen support, stating that successful implementation of policies and laws requires an awareness campaign and a shift in people's mindsets.

Natung mentioned that the state government has allocated funds to the Itanagar Municipal Corporation for establishing solid waste management plants in Chimpu and Karsingsa.
