Mumbai: Supriya Sule, the Member of Parliament from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), met with the Mumbai Police Commissioner today following threatening messages received by her father and the party's president, Sharad Pawar.
Expressing her concerns, Sule stated, "I received a message on WhatsApp regarding Pawar Sahab. He has been threatened through a website. So, I have come to the Police demanding justice. I urge the Maharashtra Home Minister and Union Home Minister to take action. These kinds of actions are a form of low-level politics, and it needs to stop."
In response to the situation, the Mumbai Police has registered a case against two individuals in connection with the threat call made to NCP chief Sharad Pawar. The police have invoked sections 153A, 504, and 506(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for promoting enmity between different groups, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, and criminal intimidation, respectively. The Crime Branch is also conducting an investigation into the matter, ensuring a thorough examination of the incident.: Supriya Sule, the Member of Parliament from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), met with the Mumbai Police Commissioner today following threatening messages received by her father and the party's president, Sharad Pawar.
