Aizawl, Mizoram: Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga took to Twitter to emphasize the state government's commitment to humanitarian assistance and unity among diverse communities. In his tweet, he stated, "As a responsible government, we don't have much but we are ready to share!" The government of Mizoram has issued 2,388.50 quintals of rice, along with other relief supplies, to assist the Zo ethnic tribes in troubled areas of Manipur and internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in Mizoram.
Since the eruption of ethnic strife in Manipur, a total of 11,785 IDPs from Manipur have sought shelter in Mizoram. Demonstrating its compassion and solidarity, Mizoram is currently providing refuge to over 50,000 individuals from neighboring Manipur, Myanmar, and Bangladesh.
Mizoram, often referred to as an "Eternal Home" for all Zo ethnic tribes, remains committed to ensuring safety and security for every citizen, regardless of their ethnic background. CM Zoramthanga reiterated that Mizoram is not only a sanctuary for the Zo ethnic tribes but also a safe haven for non-ethnic communities and law-abiding citizens. He expressed his desire to see Manipur become a secure place for the law-abiding Zo ethnic tribes, just as Mizoram has been for the Meiteis and other communities.
