Mizoram Government Provides Relief Supplies to Zo Ethnic Tribes in Manipur and IDPs
Mizoram CM Zoramthanga Extends Humanitarian Assistance, Stresses Unity and Safety for All Citizens
Aizawl, Mizoram:  Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga took to Twitter to emphasize the state government's commitment to humanitarian assistance and unity among diverse communities. In his tweet, he stated, "As a responsible government, we don't have much but we are ready to share!" The government of Mizoram has issued 2,388.50 quintals of rice, along with other relief supplies, to assist the Zo ethnic tribes in troubled areas of Manipur and internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in Mizoram.

Since the eruption of ethnic strife in Manipur, a total of 11,785 IDPs from Manipur have sought shelter in Mizoram. Demonstrating its compassion and solidarity, Mizoram is currently providing refuge to over 50,000 individuals from neighboring Manipur, Myanmar, and Bangladesh.

Mizoram, often referred to as an "Eternal Home" for all Zo ethnic tribes, remains committed to ensuring safety and security for every citizen, regardless of their ethnic background. CM Zoramthanga reiterated that Mizoram is not only a sanctuary for the Zo ethnic tribes but also a safe haven for non-ethnic communities and law-abiding citizens. He expressed his desire to see Manipur become a secure place for the law-abiding Zo ethnic tribes, just as Mizoram has been for the Meiteis and other communities.

The Mizoram government's proactive response to the humanitarian crisis has garnered appreciation from various quarters. The provision of essential supplies, including rice, highlights the state's determination to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the ongoing conflicts in Manipur. The government's efforts are not only focused on providing immediate relief but also on fostering a sense of unity and harmony among different communities.

The plight of the displaced individuals has not gone unnoticed, and Mizoram's welcoming approach stands as a testament to the spirit of humanity and compassion. By accommodating and supporting those in need, the state has set an example of unity and social integration.

CM Zoramthanga's tweet echoes the values of Mizoram as a responsible and caring government. Despite the limitations faced, the state has risen to the occasion, demonstrating its willingness to share resources and extend a helping hand to those affected by the turmoil in Manipur.

As the situation evolves, Mizoram remains steadfast in its commitment to providing assistance, ensuring the safety and well-being of all its residents, and promoting a society built on inclusivity, empathy, and mutual respect. The Mizoram government's humanitarian efforts serve as a reminder that collective support and understanding can bridge divides and create a harmonious coexistence, not just within Mizoram but also across borders.
