Missing Minor Girls from Shillong Found Safe in Assam's West Karbi Anglong District
ASSAM: Two missing minor girls from Shillong, Meghalaya have been located in the West Karbi Anglong district of Assam. The incident began when separate complaints were lodged at Pasteur Beat House on May 26, reporting the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl from Golflinks Khliehshnong and a 15-year-old girl from Pynthorbah. Promptly, both cases were registered with the Sadar police station.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the girls were likely acquainted with each other and might have left together. Despite extensive efforts to locate them, no significant leads were found. As a result, lookout notices were issued nationwide.

However, the Missing Desk of East Khasi Hills, under the guidance of Hav. Sanjit Pandey and the case's investigating officer, SI Topon Marak, diligently pursued the matter. Their relentless efforts paid off as they successfully located the girls today in Tumpreng, West Karbi Anglong, at a relative's residence.

SP Sylvester Nongtnger of East Khasi Hills mentioned that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ascertain the reasons and circumstances behind the girls' decision to run away. It is essential to understand the factors that led to their disappearance and ensure their well-being moving forward.

Authorities are relieved that the missing girls have been found and will now focus on the necessary steps to ensure their safety and address any underlying issues. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of promptly reporting such cases and the collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies to safeguard the welfare of minors.
