Karbi Youth Festival 2024 Preponed to January for Golden Jubilee Celebration know dates, Cheif guest...
President of India Invited as Chief Guest for Karbi Youth Festival 2024 Golden Jubilee
Diphu, Assam:  In an exciting announcement, the Karbi Cultural Society (KCS) revealed that the upcoming "Golden Jubilee celebration of the Karbi Youth Festival 2024" will be held from January 12 to 19, instead of the originally planned dates of February 15 to 19. The KCS made this decision to ensure that the festival does not clash with the impending Parliamentary Election in 2024.

The Karbi Youth Festival, an eagerly awaited event celebrating the vibrant culture and heritage of the Karbi community, will now span eight days instead of the usual five. The festival, held annually, brings together thousands of Karbi youths and enthusiasts from various parts of the country.

The decision to preponed the festival was driven by the presumption that the Parliamentary Election will be conducted in April 2024, as it has been traditionally held in previous years. By rescheduling the festival, the organizers aim to avoid any potential conflicts with the election declaration and the ensuing code of conduct.

A press statement issued by the KCS emphasized that the much-awaited Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Karbi Youth Festival should not be affected by any political events. Therefore, the decision was made to shift the festival by one month. This change will ensure that the festival can be enjoyed to the fullest by all attendees, without any interference from electoral activities.

In a grand gesture, the KCS and the Celebration Committee are in talks to extend an invitation to the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, to grace the 50th edition of the Karbi Youth Festival as the chief guest. The presence of such a distinguished guest would add prestige and honor to the event, further amplifying its significance.

Additionally, the organizers have ambitious plans to set a new world record during the festival. They aim to showcase the traditional Karbi game called "Kengdongdang Kedam" or Walking by Stick, involving a minimum of 3000 youths. The record-breaking attempt will be submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records, reflecting the community's pride and determination to leave a mark on the global stage.

Preparations for the Karbi Youth Festival 2024 are already underway, as organizers and participants gear up for this historic edition. The festival promises to be a memorable and culturally enriching experience, highlighting the artistic talents, traditional customs, and warm hospitality of the Karbi people.

The Karbi Cultural Society and the Celebration Committee encourage everyone to mark their calendars for this extraordinary event. The festival will take place at the Karbi People's Hall in Taralangso, Diphu, Karbi Anglong, where a vibrant display of Karbi culture and heritage awaits visitors from near and far.

As the Karbi community celebrates the Golden Jubilee of their beloved youth festival, the rescheduled dates of January 12 to 19, 2024, promise an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
