After conducting a review meeting at the Kamakhya Temple on June 10, Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah informed the media about the decision. The authorities will close the route for devotees heading towards the main sanctum after 9 pm, and it will only reopen at 5 am the next day.
The Ambubachi Mela, a significant festival, will take place from June 22 to 26.
The Kamakhya Temple, located on the Nilachal hills in Guwahati, holds immense religious importance and is one of the oldest and most revered centers for Tantric practices dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya. The new regulations aim to maintain a smooth flow of devotees while ensuring their safety and avoiding overcrowding during the festival.
