Headmaster Suspended for Irregular Attendance in Assam School
In a recent development, the headmaster of a primary school in North Lakhimpur district, Assam, has been suspended due to irregular attendance. The Deputy Commissioner of the district, Sumit Sattawan, conducted a surprise visit to Kimin Ex Colony Primary School, during which he noticed the absence of the headmaster and an assistant teacher.

Despite classes starting at 7:30 am, both the headmaster, Ivarani Chetia, and the assistant teacher, Bitupan Saikia, were nowhere to be found until 9:30 am. This visit revealed that their attendance at the school had been highly inconsistent.

Furthermore, it has come to light that the headmaster's name was implicated in a corruption scandal related to the mid-day meal program.

To address this issue and ensure the smooth functioning of the school, the authorities have taken the decision to suspend the headmaster pending further investigation. This step has been taken to uphold the importance of regular attendance and maintain transparency in the education system.

Efforts are underway to appoint a temporary headmaster and ensure the students' education is not disrupted during this period. The education department will also conduct a thorough inquiry into the corruption allegations to ascertain the truth and take appropriate action.

This incident highlights the significance of accountability and the need for responsible individuals to fulfill their duties diligently in the education sector. The authorities are committed to upholding the standards of education and ensuring the welfare of the students.
