Silchar, Assam: In a positive development, employees of the two non-functional paper mills in Assam are expected to receive their pending Provident Fund (PF) dues soon, according to a representative from the mills' Joint Action Committee of Recognised Unions (JACRU).

Manabendra Chakraborty, the President of JACRU, announced on Wednesday that he received a phone call from the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in New Delhi. The EPFO assured him that they were taking necessary steps to expedite the remittance of PF dues to the employees. This response came after Chakraborty had previously tweeted to the EPFO in April, raising concerns about the long-standing non-payment of PF dues owed to the mill employees.

Chakraborty further stated that the EPFO authorities assured him that appropriate measures were being undertaken to resolve the issue promptly. He expressed hope that the EPFO authorities would soon address the matter, ultimately ensuring that the employees of the mills receive their rightful PF dues.

This development brings renewed optimism to the employees, who have been eagerly awaiting the settlement of their PF dues. As efforts continue to be made by the EPFO and the JACRU, the employees can look forward to a positive resolution in the near future.
