Lakhimpur: Sri Sumit Sattwan, IAS, the Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur, paid a visit to Bosagaon High School on Friday to personally assess the educational environment and interact with the students. During the visit, he thoroughly examined the classes, unit tests, examination preparation, and the implementation of the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme. Additionally, he inspected the school building and its premises.
During the inspection, several significant shortcomings were observed, raising concerns about the quality of education being imparted at the school. Sri Sumit Sattwan wasted no time in taking action to address these issues. He immediately directed the Inspector of Schools, Lakhimpur, to initiate necessary steps against the principal of Bosagaon High School.
Education Minister Ranoj Pegu also commented on the matter, emphasizing the authority granted to Deputy Commissioners in improving the functioning of schools. He stated that on exigency grounds, DCs are empowered to transfer a teacher. In line with this, a new provision will soon be made available on the official website hrmsassam.in, enabling DCs to take appropriate action when required.
