Dimapur: The Dimapur police made a distressing discovery today as they recovered the lifeless body of a young woman, estimated to be between 18 and 20 years old, near the over-bridge at KM260/1, close to the Dimapur railway track. The police suspect illness and starvation to be the probable cause of her death.
Upon the recovery, an inquest was promptly conducted to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. After completing all necessary legal procedures, the authorities shifted the unidentified body to the Morgue at the District Hospital Dimapur for further examination and identification purposes.
Described as having a dark complexion, the deceased was found wearing a pink kurta and pant (silver color), adorned with a black shawl (chunni). She also sported a gold-colored bracelet on her left hand, a silver nose ring on the left side of her nose, and two tattoos on her left hand. One of the tattoos was discernible, reading 'ELAR,' while the other was illegible.
