Guwahati: In a significant move towards promoting the comprehensive development and growth of the Adivasi community, one of the major ethnic groups in Assam, the state government has established the "Adivasi Welfare and Development Council." The interim council, which will play a pivotal role in addressing the needs and concerns of the Adivasi community, is set to be officially inaugurated in July.
Highlighting the government's commitment to the welfare of the Adivasi community, a meeting was chaired by the authorities yesterday. The meeting brought together elected officials including the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Chief Executive Member (CEM), Deputy Chief Executive Member (Dy CEM), and Executive Members (EMs) of the council.
