Adipurush Controversy: Writer Manoj Muntashir Reply to Controversy
Controversy Surrounding Adipurush Movie Dialogues Prompts Reflection on Emotion Respect

The highly anticipated film Adipurush, starring Prabhas, has recently found itself embroiled in controversy over certain dialogues related to Lord Hanuman. The movie's writer, Manoj Muntashir, took to Twitter to share a thought-provoking message titled "First Lesson Before the Ramayana: Respecting Every Emotion."

Muntashir expressed his remorse for unintentionally hurting sentiments with just five lines of dialogue among the extensive script, which comprises over 4,000 verses. He acknowledged the criticism he received, despite the numerous verses that celebrate the glory of Lord Rama, extol the purity of Mother Sita, and commend those who often go unnoticed.

The writer expressed surprise and disappointment over derogatory remarks made by his own brothers on social media. These were the very individuals for whom Muntashir had recited numerous poems on television, dedicated to revered mothers. It struck him deeply that these same individuals used disrespectful language when addressing his own mother. He pondered the sudden bitterness that had seemingly engulfed his brothers, who had previously regarded every mother as their own, just as they revered the divine mothers.

Drawing a powerful comparison, Muntashir highlighted that those who criticized him now seemed to sit at the feet of Shabari, much like they once revered Kaushalya, Lord Rama's mother.

While acknowledging that a three-hour film might present something different from the audience's imagination in just three minutes, Muntashir expressed confusion about being swiftly labeled as an enemy of the eternal on his forehead. He questioned whether those who criticized him had ever heard songs like "Jai Shree Ram," "Shivoham," or "Ram Siya Ram." These very praises of the eternal were also born from his pen. He further reminded them that he had penned the widely appreciated songs "Teri Mitti" and "Desh Mere" as well.

Despite the controversies, Muntashir emphasized that he harbored no complaints against those who expressed their discontent. He reaffirmed that they were, are, and always will be dear to him. He urged unity, stressing that if they stood against each other, the eternal would ultimately suffer. He reiterated their shared purpose of serving the eternal, a purpose that has resonated with a vast number of people and will continue to do so in the future.

Explaining the motivation behind his post, Muntashir made it clear that nothing mattered to him more than the emotions of the audience. While he could present numerous arguments in favor of his dialogues, he acknowledged that it would not alleviate their pain. As a result, the producers and director of the film, in collaboration with Muntashir, have decided to revise the dialogues that have caused distress. These revisions will be incorporated into the film this week.

In conclusion, Muntashir extended his wish for Lord Rama's blessings upon everyone.
