A robbery during the early hours of Sunday in the Lenga locality of Assam has left residents in distress. The incident occurred at Deka Metal Store, a well-known business establishment, where the perpetrators managed to steal a significant number of valuable items, including glass and brass utensils, according to reliable sources.
This incident follows a recent theft case at a school located on Lenga-Kuruwa road, adding to the growing concerns among the local community. Residents are expressing frustration and anger over the series of thefts in the area, prompting authorities to launch an active investigation in an effort to apprehend the culprits.
In a related incident that occurred on February 10, two thieves were apprehended while attempting to break into the Nagaon Paper Mill, located in Jagiroad, Assam. The culprits, identified as Sulaiman Ali and Mahibur Rahman, residents of Ghunusa gaon in Jagiroad, were caught red-handed as they entered the paper mill premises by scaling the boundary wall with the intention of stealing valuable equipment.
When the thieves tried to escape, the alert security guards resorted to blank firing. Despite the attempted escape, the guards successfully chased and apprehended the culprits. Subsequently, the duo was handed over to the Jagiroad Police for further legal proceedings.
Local authorities in both cases are working diligently to address these incidents and ensure the safety and security of residents. The investigations aim to identify any potential links between the recent thefts and the culprits involved. The community is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.
