To address instances of teachers wearing inappropriate or casual attire at work, the government has implemented stricter guidelines regarding the dress code for teachers in schools and other educational establishments.
The notification emphasizes the role of teachers as exemplars of decency and underscores the need for a dress code that reflects professionalism and a serious approach to their work.
According to the new guidelines, male teachers are required to wear appropriate formal attire, including formal shirts and pants, rather than casual clothing such as t-shirts and jeans. Female teachers are expected to dress in modest salwar suits, sarees, or mekhela-chadors, avoiding casual wear like t-shirts, jeans, and leggings.
Both male and female teachers are instructed to wear clean and decent clothing in subdued colors, while flashy attire, as well as casual and party wear, are strictly prohibited during working hours.
