The case has been registered at Dotma Police Station under case number 10/2023, citing violations of sections 363, 376(d), 328 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
According to reports, the victim was abducted from Atiabari Tinali on NH 31-C in a Maruti van with registration number AS-17 M 8735. She was then taken towards the Serfanguri-Dotma route, where she was sexually assaulted inside the moving vehicle. It is believed that one of the main accused, Rubel Rehman, had prior knowledge of the victim.
The victim was rescued when the police intercepted the car at a checkpoint in Dotma while it was heading towards Bilasipara in Dhubri. At the time of her rescue, the victim was in a semi-conscious state. The Child Welfare Committee in Kokrajhar has recorded her statement and is demanding severe action against the perpetrators of this horrific crime.
