The delay in
announcing the results by the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA),
despite the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declaring the results
for Class 10 and Class 12 exams on May 12, is heightening the sense of
uncertainty and concern among students, parents, and teachers.
Assam
Education Minister Ranoj Pegu had previously promised that SEBA HSLC exam results would be
announced before CBSE's. However, the exact dates for the SEBA results are
still unknown, adding to the anticipation and concern.
The SEBA
Class 10 exams began on March 3 with the English paper and were originally
scheduled to end on March 20. However, due to a question paper leak, the
General Science exam for Class 10 was canceled and rescheduled for March 30.
The incident of the leaked question
paper and the
subsequent postponement of the exam led to strong criticism of SEBA. Student
associations and political organizations demanded action against the State
Education Minister and other important SEBA officials.
