Guwahati: In a major development, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has introduced the revolutionary 'DARPAN' portal for the admission process of the Higher Secondary (HS) First Year Course in various institutions across Assam for the session 2023-24. The offline admission system has been completely replaced by this online platform, granting students access from May 29 to June 17, 2023.
With the registration process slated to begin in August 2023, only students who have completed the admission process through the 'DARPAN' portal will be eligible to proceed with registration.
To apply for admission to different institutions, students can visit the official portals: www.darpan.ahseconline.in or www.ahsec.assam.gov.in.
Key Dates for a Smooth Admission Process:
1. Online Application Submission by Applicants: May 29 to June 9
2. Preparation of Selection List/Waiting List by Institutions: June 10 to June 12
3. Publication of Provisional Selection List/Waiting List (valid up to June 15, 2023): June 12 (midnight)
4. Admission Acceptance by Students: June 13 to 15
5. Confirmation of Admission by Institutions in 'DARPAN' (online): June 16 to 17

Student Guidelines at a Glance:
1. Submit applications online through the 'DARPAN' portal.
2. Up to five (5) applications can be submitted per student.
3. Edit your profile once before institutional verification.
4. Access the Selection List and Waiting List on the 'DARPAN' portal and receive notifications via SMS.
5. Accept only one admission offer and complete the process within the stipulated time.
6. Flexibility to change preferred subjects/stream during the admission process.
Institution Guidelines Summarized:
1. Conduct online verification for HS First Year admissions.
