Nagaon, Assam - Superintendent of Police Leena Doley has chosen not to comment on the perplexing case surrounding the untimely demise of Sub Inspector Junmoni Rabha in Kaliabor. The investigation has been entrusted to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam, following orders from the Director General of Police GP Singh. In order to safeguard the integrity of the ongoing investigation, Doley refrained from making any statements regarding the case.
During a recent media interaction in Nagaon, the Superintendent of Police faced inquiries from journalists regarding the circumstances surrounding SI Rabha's death. However, Doley evaded the questions and refrained from providing any comments.
The case of Junmoni Rabha's death has taken several dramatic turns. Her mother has come forward, accusing high-ranking officials of the Nagaon police of "murdering" her daughter due to her alleged discovery of their involvement in a potential criminal conspiracy.
According to Junmoni's grieving mother, both the SP and DSP might be implicated in a significant matter, and Junmoni could have become aware of their sinister intentions, leading to her tragic demise.
Furthermore, she claimed that a police team, led by the Nagaon SP, conducted a raid on their residence on the fateful night of the accident. During the raid, it is alleged that Rs 80,000 and a small amount of jewelry were seized. Disturbingly, one of the police officials reportedly took her phone, turned it off, and deleted numerous contacts and numbers.
Junmoni's mother asserted that the police threatened her, warning her not to disclose any information to the media.
The raid was conducted based on a complaint filed at Lakhimpur Police Station, accusing Junmoni of involvement in an extortion case.
According to Junmoni's mother, the police team arrived at their residence late at night, possibly after the fatal car crash that claimed Junmoni's life.
Adding to the suspicions, Junmoni's mother claimed that the post-mortem examination was carried out on her daughter's body without her consent. This is particularly concerning as the examination revealed multiple injury marks, indicating possible assault with sticks or rods prior to her untimely demise.
The family of the deceased officer has urgently appealed to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, amidst these troubling circumstances and alarming inconsistencies, seeking his immediate intervention in what they strongly suspect to be a case of "deliberate homicide."
