ACS Officer Mukul Kathar in domestic violence Bail Plea to be Heard by Gauhati High Court on ...

DIPHU: The Gauhati High Court has scheduled a hearing for the bail plea of ACS officer Mukul Kathar on June 5. Kathar had filed an appeal for anticipatory bail on April 29, which was followed by the dismissal of his interim bail plea on May 8.
The ACS officer is facing charges of domestic violence in Karbi Anglong, Assam. Two FIRs were registered against him, one filed by his wife and the other by his sister-in-law. On April 22, Kathar was accused of physically assaulting his wife's elder sister in Diphu, Assam. He was also accused of firing blank shots near his wife's maternal home, leading to another FIR filed against him by Lindali, his wife.

On Friday, the police submitted a CD containing evidence related to the case to the high court. The court has also requested the submission of forensic reports by June 5.

Mukul Kathar previously held the position of Secretary to the Chief Executive Member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and was responsible for overseeing several important departments. However, following the charges against him, he was relieved from all his departmental duties and subsequently dismissed from the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).
