Assam
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently visited Karimnagar, where he spoke
about his government's efforts to tackle madrassas.
During his speech, Sarma targeted AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, that his
government had closed down 600 madrassas. He also announced that his government
plans to shut down 300 more madrassas this year.

Earlier,
Assam CM defended the government's actions, stating that the closure of
unauthorized madrassas is necessary to ensure that students receive quality
education and that no one is allowed to use these institutions to propagate
extremist ideologies. He also added that the government will provide financial
assistance to students who are studying in these institutions to ensure that
they can continue their education in alternative institutions.
The
closure of madrassas has generated mixed reactions, with some people
questioning the government's decision to close down religious institutions,
while others applaud the move. However, the government's primary concern is to
ensure that all educational institutions in the state provide quality education
and that they are regulated and monitored properly.
The issue
of the closure of madrassas and the government's role in regulating educational
institutions is a contentious one that is likely to generate further debate and
discussion in the coming days. It is important that all stakeholders engage in
constructive dialogue and work towards finding a solution that is both
effective and equitable.
